Michael has been a partner and ambassador for Williams since 2011.
Working with the Williams Racing chefs, he and his team bring Michael’s acclaimed Michelin-star cuisine and hospitality to the team’s motorhome facility over race weekends.
“It is a wonderful and exciting partnership,” says Michael, a keen racing enthusiast. “Williams is a great British racing team with a famous heritage. The team is doing brilliantly and it is very special to be a part of this.”
During the Formula One season, Williams deliver Michelin-star gastronomy to the team’s guests, partners, media and VIPs. Michael’s top flight experience in the kitchen has reshaped how the Williams team is able to prepare gourmet dining from the back of a motorhome unit.
“When Michael joined us,” explains Head Chef Adam Dixon, “he looked at not only what we could do to improve the food, but also make the service easier. He brought in new techniques that we’d never tried before and although the menus have become more complex, the procedure to make them is easier and we’re able to deliver a Michelin-starred dining experience for our guests. He brought fresh eyes to what we were doing in the kitchen.”
Michael’s insight has also been invaluable to the development and layout of the team’s brand new motorhome unit, which has made a welcome addition to European paddocks earlier this season.
“Hospitality forms an important part of our trackside offering,” explains Deputy Team Principal Claire Williams. “It is important for every element of our team to reflect our pursuit for a competitive edge and excellence, whether it’s on or off the race track.
“The partnership with Michael has allowed us to enhance our hospitality service to first class levels. It is important for our guests, partners, media and VIPs to feel that they are receiving the highest levels of hospitality within Formula One, are made to feel welcome and to be an extension of our team during the race weekend. We pride ourselves on attention to detail and this ethos extends to hospitality.”
