Ladies do Lunch at ABode Exeter
Ladies do Lunch - what's it all about? We are simply providing an opportunity for ladies to get together informally to share in a fascinating range of talks, demonstrations, and, of course, lunches! Our bi-monthly get togethers are as varied and fascinating as our members themselves, and have included fashion shows, flower arranging, Shakespeare in the Gardens, cooking demonstrations with Michael Caines, visits to Gidleigh Park, hat making, ‘a day at the races', a visit to a local vineyard and much more.
Launched in November 2002, with an irreverent and hilarious talk ‘Chaos at Christmas' by our effervescent Exeter hostess Sally Sedgman, Sally's talk set the tone for our informal ladies luncheon group, and its fair to say we've hardly looked back since! From those simple beginnings, Ladies do Lunch meets on a bi-monthly basis and continues to grow in success.
We have a variety of ladies who regularly attend, many of them businesswomen, so Ladies do Lunch is an ideal opportunity to network or to simply meet like-minded women who enjoy fascinating company.
The following lunches will be taking place in 2010:
Monday 26th JulyAn exclusive visit to Pebblebed Vineyards in Topsham. This will include a private guided tour of the cellar and grounds and a chance to sample some of their produce. Then back to ABode Exeter for lunch.
Monday 13th September
Back, due to popular demand, a visit to the 2 Michelin starred Gidleigh Park! Set in 45 acres of magnificent and secluded gardens on the north Teign River, Gidleigh Park is amongst the most highly rated small luxury hotels in England. You will get the chance to experience their exquisite restaurant food and tour the outstanding grounds.
Monday 18th October
Business Networking Lunch, with guest speaker Ollie Allen, secretary of The Devon County Show. This event will give you the opportunity to liaise with some of Exeter's most prominent business women.
Monday 29th November
Christmas event with all the traditional trimmings, further details to follow.
